Cross Pollination Show

My most recent installation, "Garden of Earth and Ocean" is currently on view at the loveliest little gallery in York, Maine, the George Marshall Store Gallery. It is part of a group show titled "Cross Pollination". Cross-pollination celebrates the overlaps between gardening and art-making as conduits for creativity, community, sustenance, and healing. The show brings together eight artists whose practices are inspired by, incorporate materials from, or run parallel to work in the garden. The show is beautiful and worth a visit, and "Garden of Earth and Ocean" seems to be making a big impression on the visitors. I hope you get a chance to see it!

On view until August 17th, 2025 • George Marshall Store Gallery

Farm to Color, Fresh Indigo Workshop

Come experience the fantastic turquoise tones of fresh-leaf indigo dyeing using indigo grown on site at Gather Farm! During the workshop we will harvest fresh indigo and process it to dye one silk and one cotton scarf. I will walk us through each step of the process, providing information about the history, growing, and the harvesting of Persicaria tinctoria (Japanese indigo). During the workshop, participants will have an immersive educational experience, learning a few simple pattern-making techniques and each student gets to leave with one silk bandana and one cotton bandana that they've dyed themselves.

"Seaweed Moon" at the Galatea Fine Art

I have a small piece in the current juried show, "In the Moment", at Galatea Fine Art Gallery in Boston, MA. The gallery is part of the New England Art Center and is well worth a visit. In the Moment features interpretations from a diverse group of artists, exploring how a moment can be fleeting, transformative, or deeply profound. My piece—one of the very first eco-prints I created about six years ago—combines the sense of movement through water with a quiet fixation on a full moon.

Show Dates: August 1 - 31

A 4 Day Retreat in Maine

This multi day class takes us into the surrounding landscapes of Penobscot Bay, Maine, for foraging time and brings us back to the studio to learn about mordanting methods for natural dye applications on fiber. We will eco-printing various species of our foraged seaweeds, and other plants and minerals an intrepid printer may want to explore. Then we will spend time experimenting with tie resist and block resist methods, with dye baths from our collected and processed plants. We will learn how to make our own inks to further add depth and style to our pieces, creating layered and narrative-rich panels that can be transformed into apparel or a decoration for the home.

Retreat Dates: Sept. 3 - 7
